Welcome to Alpha Omicron Pi, Chi Psi chapter, at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. As a sorority based on the ideals of love among our members, we strive to achieve a character of dignity, loyalty, and scholarship. We are committed to helping each other and to giving back to our community. Alpha Omicron Pi is an international women's fraternity that promotes friendship for a lifetime, inspires academic excellence and lifelong learning, while developing leadership skills through service to our chapter and community. Alpha Omicron Pi, also known as AOII, takes pride in our highly respected reputation on campus, within the Greek Community, and internationally. All of our sisters balance the full social calendar with other clubs on campus, work schedules, and their academics. You will find AOIIs on campus involved in Society of Women Engineers, American Marketing Association, Poly Reps, ASI and Biology Club along with a long list of other extracurricular activities. Even though our sisters are diverse in outside activities, we all know that we have one unbreakable link in common: the sisterhood of Alpha Omicron Pi.
As a chapter, we enjoy many other activities ranging from sisterhood events to socials with the many fraternities on campus. Sisterhood activities include trips to Disneyland, MLB Baseball games, yoga sessions, camping trips and movie nights. Memories with our sisters are full of “laugh until you cry” moments, dance parties, and good conversations over warm cups of coffee. AOIIs also enjoy all of our themed exchanges such as 80s Prom, and our date parties including Semi- Formal and Formal. Philanthropy is extremely important to us. We plan and host our Annual Mr. Fraternity contest, which raises money for AOll’s national philanthropy of Arthritis research. In addition to Mr. Fraternity, we host and attend an array of community service efforts. As an honor for our outstanding service efforts we were recently recognized by Cal Poly’s President, Warren Baker, by being awarded the President’s Community Service Award – Greek Contribution this spring of 2010!
As a chapter, we encourage leadership and take pride in our leaders who are dedicated to the improvement and well being of AOII. Some of these leaders are offered the opportunity to attend Leadership Academy, Leadership Institute or Convention during the year at AOII headquarters in Tennessee. At Convention in 2007, our chapter was presented with the prestigious Jessie Wallace Hughan Award, given to the top international collegiate chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi! AOII Chi Psi strives to achieve excellence, encourage substance within its members, and develop women that will be successful and confident in all of their future endeavors. As President of Alpha Omicron Pi, I am honored to represent such an outstanding group of ladies. Please explore our website to find out more about our unique sisterhood and our amazing events!
Roses,
